Mole Valley District Council has granted planning permission for an extension and alterations to improve a picturesque 1930s property near Dorking, Surrey.

The property is thought to have been originally used as a hunting lodge and bears a distinctive character.  Over the years its approach was significantly altered with the addition of a flat-roofed extension, porch, garage and carport that now detract from the property’s original character and setting.

The new design incorporates a first floor extension, new hallway and porch together with extensive internal alterations to relocate the kitchen and family area to benefit from the stunning lake side views.  ArchitectureLIVE’s design rebalances the front elevation of the property and creates a stunning new approach worthy of the breath taking setting.  An existing summerhouse and sheds will also be replaced by a new double garage, pool house and home gym to complete the brief.
